Labor Distribution (LD) FAQ

Labor Distribution (LD) FAQ

Question

Answer

I am not able to complete PHAREDS on an employee because there is already a PHAREDS transaction already open by another user.

To resolve this error, first contact the user that is displayed on the error report. Ask them to log into Banner, find the PHAREDS transaction they initiated, and close PHAREDS without making any changes. In most cases, this should release the transaction from the previous users so that you are able to complete the PHAREDS. If this does not work or the user is not available, contact payroll@vcu.edu so that a process can be run to clear the pending transaction.

How can I make sure that the labor distribution percentage on my PHAREDS transaction equals 100%?

Prior to exiting the labor distribution screen, click on Tools at the top right, and select Round Labor Distribution. Once this is done, verify that the percentage is equal to 100% on the main screen prior to submitting your PHAREDS transaction.

I processed a PHAREDS but it did not complete. Why?

A PHAREDS transaction will not complete (move to disposition 70) for the following reasons: 1. the PHAREDS was finished but not submitted completely by the user; 2. the PHAREDS is stuck at disposition 60 because the labor was not equal to 100%; 3. the PHAREDS is stuck at disposition 60 because the hours were less than or greater than the hours on the original transaction; or 4. the PHAREDS went to BADPAY due to an error with the index or fund.

I need to process a PHAREDS for an employee, however there is an error indicating that I don’t have access to the org.

Banner allows you to process PHAREDS only for employees in orgs you have been granted access. Email the Banner HR security team at hrsecurity@vcu.edu with the VID of the employee you are attempting to process so that we can determine which org access you are missing.

I am attempting to submit a labor distribution change ePAF, however, there is an error indicating that the effective date must be greater than the last pay date.

Labor distribution changes via a labor distribution (FDC) ePAF can be completed only for current and future effective dates. Ensure that the effective date you are using for the LD change is after the last paid date displayed at the top section of the ePAF screen.
