Institutional Base Salary

Overview

As of July 1, 2024, the Institutional Base Salary code will be added to the following ePAFs and PAFs:

  • SWCHG (Student Worker Change) ePAF

  • Secondary Assignment Forms (Faculty, Staff, Post Doctoral)

  • Job Change New Position Jotform

  • Job Change Current Position Jotform

The Institutional Base Salary code only applies is the job is Overload.

On the SWCHG and HRCHG ePAFs, a new field will be added. This field is labeled "Job Location". This field is not required.  If the Student Worker or Hourly job is Overload and meets the conditions detailed in the Institutional Base Salary Definition and Decision Tree, please record the IBS code in the Job Location field. You can use the search button to find the codes or enter RIBS for Institutional Base Salary or EIBS for ECC IBS.

On the Secondary Assignment and Job Change New Position Jotform PAFs, you will see a new question:

"Institutional Base Salary (IBS) - Using the definition and decision tree linked here, please determine which code, if any, should be used for this action.
Choices = 1) RIBS (Part of IBS) / 2) EIBS (Not part of IBS but grant-funded) / N/A (Not part of IBS and not grant-funded)"

The Institutional Base Salary code is a Federal Requirement (OMB Uniform Guidance 2 CFR 200.430). A detailed definition can be found here

If the code must be added to a job that is already in Banner, please use the IBS ePAF. Instructions can be found here
